The Creative Strategist with a Story to Tell

I’m not your average content strategist…

 

My content journey began as it does for most young women, keeping a diary. It wasn’t long before I realised how much I loved writing, and that my raw and gritty entries read much more like short stories than they did a journal.

This love for colourful narratives with unforgettable casts of characters, led me to complete a BA in Creative Writing and an MA in Publishing Studies.

But by the time I graduated in 2008 the landscape had shifted. Print was fading, digital was booming, and content reigned supreme. This twist of fate sparked a new pursuit – a way to merge my love for language with the exciting world of advertising. And so, I became a Content Strategist. First writing SEO, PPC, and blogs for small UK businesses, to eventually working at Reuters and conceptualising thought-leadership campaigns for some of the world’s most influential organisations, including Facebook, BP, Barclays, and the UK Department of International Trade.

 

 

But my passion extends far beyond crafting compelling copy…

When so many people around the world are suffering from social and environmental challenges such as political polarisation, rising rates of obesity and diabetes, not to mention unsafe reproductive practices and increasing levels of air pollution, I have often wondered why public sector organisations and other non-profits aren’t doing more to get their knowledge into the hands of everyday people.

Having leveraged the immense power of targeted content marketing throughout my career, I can help organisations create and disseminate communications that will resonate with the recipient’s unique circumstances, challenges, and pain points – empowering them with knowledge that can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Through compelling storytelling, tailored messaging, and strategic delivery across channels, organisations have an opportunity to create meaningful connections, ignite positive change, and support those suffering from inequalities and injustices to thrive.

As the Founding Trustee of Global Girl Media UK, and former board member of Barefoot College International, I’ve been committed to championing the amplification of marginalized voices. Currently, I lend my expertise to Fumble UK’s Advisory Committee and actively contribute to Giving Women.
